About The Position

University Radiology is hiring a seasoned per diem CT Technologist for its new imaging office in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. The role performs diagnostic CT exams in an outpatient setting and produces high-quality images for radiologists and referring physicians. The schedule varies and totals 20 hours per week. The position may require working in or near areas containing specialized imaging equipment and following all department and facility safety protocols.

Requirements

• ARRT(CT) certification required.
• At least 2 years of CT experience.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT exams of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and extremities, including CT angiography and low-dose lung screening, as applicable to the service line.
• Review physician orders and patient history to confirm the correct exam and protocol.
• Screen patients for contrast allergies, kidney function, pregnancy, and other contraindications.
• Start IVs, administer IV contrast, and monitor patients for adverse reactions according to office protocol.
• Position patients accurately and operate CT equipment using appropriate techniques and dose optimization (ALARA).
• Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and keep them comfortable and informed.
• Adhere to department and facility safety protocols when working in or near areas containing specialized imaging equipment.
