About The Position
This position has developed the knowledge to perform quality CT exams in a safe and timely manner while providing excellent patient care. The work shift is Tuesday-Friday from 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM. Arkansas Children's is a tobacco-free workplace, requires flu vaccines, and is an equal opportunity employer. Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
- 2 years of imaging experience
- Radiologic Technologist License (RTL) - Arkansas Department of Health
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Pediatric experience
- ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
Responsibilities
- Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
- Demonstrates the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
- Properly administers IV and oral contrast.
- Explains exams/procedures to patients and families.
- Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
- Keeps current of new and evolving technologies in CT.
- Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
- Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
