Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Direct - 2 years of experience
  • 1 of the following certifications is required - , Radiologic Technologist License (RTL) - Arkansas Department of Health

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Direct - Pediatric
  • ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board

Responsibilities

  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
  • Properly administers IV and oral contrast.
  • Explains exams/procedures to patients and families.
  • Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  • Keeps current of new and evolving technologies in CT.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  • Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
