When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be very detail oriented and possess strong customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or GED AND one year of experience communicating information in a customer service setting are required.

  • Completing WIC Nutrition Assistant modules to assist with nutrition education.

Responsibilities

  • Provides phone management for the WIC Nutrition Program.
  • Position responsible for answering phone, scheduling new WIC appointments, rescheduling current appointments giving directions and or/general information to persons seeking information for the WIC program.
  • The Call Center is in Brunswick but will cover WIC calls for all 8 counties.
  • Will perform other caseload management functions such as maintaining appointment reminder system and assuring WIC in-reach is conducted using monthly WIC reports, completing WIC Nutrition Assistant modules to assist with nutrition education.
  • Receives, screens and directs telephone communications
  • Opens, sorts and routes incoming mail, answer correspondence, and prepares outgoing mail
  • Proofreads or verifies existing documents, reports, mathematical figures, etc. to ensure accuracy
  • Provides general clerical support to the District WIC program, to include such tasks as data entry/maintenance, distributing documents and materials, maintaining record-keeping and filing systems, etc
  • Provides direction, instruction, and guidance to WIC participants via the telephone.
  • Schedules appointment for WIC participants
  • Assists internal and external customers with maneuvering through WIC processes.
  • Adheres to the WIC processing standards and guidelines.
