About The Position

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Cryogenics Engineering Intern to join its Cryogenics team for a 26-week Spring 2027 internship. The team develops cryogenic helium systems that keep high-temperature superconducting magnets within superconducting temperatures. The role involves engineering design and analysis in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with opportunities to take designs from concept to hardware. The position is based in Devens, Massachusetts. Interns working onsite are responsible for their own transportation and housing. Assignments and technical skills needed may vary with team needs. The program is open to currently enrolled college students at all levels, from bachelor's degree through PhD, who are authorized to work in the United States for any employer. The role is expected to involve 40–50 hours per week, and pay is set according to year in school: $23–$29 per hour for bachelor's interns and $32–$35 per hour for master's and PhD interns.
