About The Position

The Peabody School District is seeking a Crossing Guard to work 10 hours a week, specifically during school days. The position involves monitoring a crosswalk and providing street crossing services for students at the intersection of Washington Street and Swampscot Ave. This role requires two hours of work per day, one hour in the morning (8-9 am) and one hour in the afternoon (3:00-4:00 pm), five days a week, Monday through Friday, for the 180-day school year. Peabody is a midsize urban center on the Northshore of Boston with a diverse student population. Requirements

  • Must pass Massachusetts criminal background check

Responsibilities

  • Monitor crosswalk and provides street crossing services for students at assigned crosswalk
  • Report and recommend safety related issues to the Lead Crossing Guard
  • Report problems to the location specific Principal and Lead Crossing Guard
  • Complies with all local laws and procedures
  • Perform other such duties as deemed necessary by the School District
