About The Position
This position reports to the Crossing Guard Supervisor. Assists pedestrians and school children in safely crossing city streets. The schedule is Monday-Friday, compensated for 1.5 hours per shift, totaling 3 hours per day. Morning hours are 8:15 AM - 9:00 AM Monday-Thursday. Afternoon hours are 3:15 PM - 4:00 PM and Friday afternoon hours are 1:15 PM - 2:00 PM. School District schedule changes may affect these hours.
Requirements
- Must be age 18 or older.
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of safety rules and regulations in assisting children in crossing streets is preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and communicate effectively verbally.
Responsibilities
- Controls traffic at school crossing intersections.
- Assists school children safely crossing City streets on their way to and from school.
- Follows safety rules and regulations while performing duties.
