Cross-Border Midwest Short-Haul Class 1/AZ Driver - Wednesday Thunder Bay Schedule
About The Position
Bison Transport is seeking a dedicated Class 1/AZ Driver for a cross-border Midwest short-haul position with a Wednesday departure schedule. This role involves a 6-day out schedule, departing Wednesday and averaging 2,500 to 2,700 miles per week. Drivers will depart Mississauga to deliver in Thunder Bay, then reload southbound out of Thunder Bay into the Midwest U.S. and return to Ontario. The position requires driving Highway 17 in Ontario year-round. Additional work may be available based on freight and Hours of Service (HOS), and freight/destinations may vary. This position offers a competitive pay package with a $0.13/mile Northern Ontario premium.
Requirements
- Must be U.S. qualified
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more
- Company Driver with 24 months tractor trailer experience
- Must have a valid Class 1/AZ license
- Reliable, flexible, and punctual
- Strong communication skills
- Values safety
- Registered with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
Responsibilities
- Depart Mississauga to deliver in Thunder Bay
- Reload southbound out of Thunder Bay into the Midwest U.S. and return to Ontario
- Drive Highway 17 in Ontario 12 months of the year
- Handle freight and destinations that might vary based on operational requirements
