About The Position

Capgemini is seeking a Crop Insurance Domain Expert to act as the subject matter expert for Crop Insurance products, including MPCI, Crop-Hail, Livestock, and Specialty Crop products. This role involves interpreting and applying USDA RMA regulations, actuarial rules, policy provisions, and loss adjustment procedures across the entire crop insurance lifecycle, from quoting and underwriting to claims and billing. The expert will support Guidewire implementations and AMS engagements by validating business rules, workflows, and edge cases, and reviewing functional requirements and configurations. They will also serve as a key advisor during transition, knowledge transfer, UAT, and regulatory audits, and provide L3 domain support for incident triage and complex production issue resolution. Additionally, the role contributes to RFP responses, solution design, estimations, and client workshops, ensuring operational readiness during critical seasonal periods like planting, acreage reporting, and harvest.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of experience in the Crop Insurance domain
  • Strong hands-on expertise in MPCI plans, unit structures, and coverage options
  • Strong hands-on expertise in prevented planting and replant scenarios
  • Strong hands-on expertise in indemnity calculations
  • Strong hands-on expertise in claims settlement and loss adjustment processes
  • Experience with USDA/RMA compliance and reporting
  • Exposure to core insurance platforms: Guidewire (preferred) or Custom insurance systems
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory and actuarial concepts into clear business guidance
  • Strong stakeholder management and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Act as the domain expert for Crop Insurance, including MPCI, Crop-Hail, Livestock, and Specialty Crop products.
  • Interpret and apply USDA RMA regulations, Actuarial rules, Policy provisions, and Loss adjustment procedures.
  • Provide guidance across the end-to-end crop insurance lifecycle: Quoting & Underwriting, Acreage Reporting, Policy Administration, Claims & Loss Adjustment, Billing & Payments.
  • Support Guidewire implementations and AMS engagements by validating business rules, workflows, and edge cases.
  • Review and sign off on functional requirements, configuration approaches, releases, and defect fixes.
  • Serve as a key advisor during transition and knowledge transfer (KT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Regulatory audits.
  • Provide L3 domain support, including incident triage and complex production issue resolution.
  • Contribute to RFP responses, solution design and estimations, and client workshops.
  • Ensure operational readiness during critical seasonal periods: Planting, Acreage reporting, Harvest.
