About The Position

The Critical Facilities Engineer is an onsite member of Vantage’s Site Operations team in San Antonio, Texas. The team is responsible for the health and performance of data center mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and customer installations. Critical Facility Engineers work onsite across shifts to help protect uptime and provide direct service to customers. The department uses a computerized maintenance management system to plan and track preventive and corrective maintenance, and team members perform much of the work themselves rather than relying on vendors. The engineer works with electrical- and mechanical-focused colleagues to maintain and repair data center infrastructure, including systems such as UPSs, PDUs, diesel generators, ATS equipment, building controls, chillers, and CRAH units. The role focuses on keeping facilities at a high standard and maintaining uninterrupted customer service. It requires hands-on technical work, coordination with maintenance vendors, preparation of operating procedures, and attention to safety, reliability, and service quality. The position is onsite, with travel expected to be less than 5%, occasionally for training.
