About The Position

The Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to the acute care of patients. The technician provides age-appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. The position reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and to the RNs on duty during each assigned shift. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete the Critical Care Tech course or an equivalent within six months of hire.
• Successfully complete a skill competency checklist validated by a Registered Nurse.
• Be certified as a Nursing Assistant in Wisconsin, or be currently enrolled in a nursing program and provide documentation from an accredited nursing school showing successful completion of the basic nursing course meeting State of Wisconsin administrative code criteria and at least one acute-care medical/surgical nursing clinical rotation.
• Obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS), or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally and in writing.
