About The Position

The Critical Care Technician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to the acute care of patients. The role provides age-appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. The CCT reports to the Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and to the RNs on duty during each assigned shift. Other duties may be assigned. This position is based at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, in the Modified Care Unit (MCU).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Complete the Critical Care Tech course or an equivalent within 6 months of hire.
Successfully complete a skill competency checklist validated by a Registered Nurse.
For staff in the FWBH MCU and FMFH 2nd floor MCU, complete an arrhythmia recognition course and orientation to the monitor room to work as a monitor technician within 6 months of hire. Candidates with prior monitor technician experience may complete a written competency test to meet this requirement.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally and in writing.
State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification, or current enrollment in a nursing program with documentation from an accredited school showing successful completion of the basic nursing course meeting State of Wisconsin administrative code criteria and at least one acute-care medical/surgical nursing clinical rotation.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS), or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.
No prior experience is required.
