About The Position

CHI Health Lakeside is West Omaha's only full-service hospital, providing patient-focused care in a campus designed to support a comfortable, less stressful hospital stay. Its services include maternity, cancer and surgery care, diagnostics, and emergency services.

The Critical Care Technician (CCT) is a full-time role in the fast-paced Emergency Department. The position supports patients, Registered Nurses, and the healthcare team through direct patient care, critical monitoring, and administrative duties. The CCT helps maintain efficient workflow and contribute to patient outcomes in a high-acuity setting.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age, as required by state law.
• Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Active status on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical and multitasking abilities, adaptability, and resilience in a fast-paced, critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with activities of daily living and basic nursing care, including taking vital signs and collecting specimens, under RN direction.
• Transport patients and provide comfort measures; respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Operate the central monitoring station, including admitting and discharging patients, assigning arrhythmia monitoring, adjusting alarm limits as directed by an RN, validating alarms, and printing or posting recordings.
• Troubleshoot monitor issues and escalate critical alerts to nursing staff.
• Transcribe and enter physician orders, schedule appointments and tests, and manage medication deliveries.
• Provide clerical support using phone, paging, computer, and fax systems, and maintain organized patient charts.
• Clean and maintain specialized equipment and restock designated supply areas.
