About The Position

The Critical Care Nurse Educator- ICU / Stepdown position is located at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA. This is a full-time, day shift role focused on providing high-quality, evidence-based practice to all clinical and non-clinical staff. The role involves policy and procedure development, implementation of new skills, equipment, and processes, competency validation, and onboarding new team members. The educator will conduct training for various programs including Nurse Residency, Preceptor Workshop, CNA Workshops, Critical Care Orientation Series, and ICU/SD New to Specialty Programs. The Nurse Educator will also attend departmental meetings as needed, coordinate with clinical departments, and manage projects.

Requirements

  • Understanding and knowledge of educational techniques and principles of adult learning.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, leadership and ancillary department staff.
  • Ability to generate enthusiasm for learning and professional growth among employees.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work with a variation of hours to provide education to all the various clinical shifts in all departments.
  • Five years of full-time experience as a licensed Registered Nurse providing direct patient care in a hospital setting.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of California.
  • Current BLS (CPR) required through the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred knowledge in working with PowerPoint, Excel, email and the electronic medical record.
  • Preferred experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in the acute care setting.
  • Master’s Degree Preferred
