The Clinical Educator, Critical Care is responsible for assessing, planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising education programs to meet the clinical needs of staff and comply with regulatory standards. This role identifies and recommends content for learning modules and unit-specific policies, particularly for new nursing staff. The educator maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards, serves as a planner and subject matter expert for continuing education programs, and demonstrates professional leadership in nursing practice. They conduct and manage multiple educational programs for varied audiences with a high standard of customer service, collaborating with leadership and multidisciplinary departments to ensure educational needs are met. The position involves developing strategies for education systems, providing clinical instruction for competency development, and orienting new and transition staff. Performance improvement plans, competency assessments, and evaluation of staff performance are also key responsibilities. The educator participates in quality patient care indicators, adheres to safety precautions, and maintains advanced understanding of departmental and healthcare systems. Proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics is expected, along with participation in projects and other assigned duties. The role emphasizes service excellence to all patients, families, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers. Additional duties for the Critical Care Educator include conducting unit-specific clinical audits, updating learning modules, and participating in PI initiatives.
