About The Position

Lovelace Medical Group is searching for a skilled Full-time Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to provide care at Lovelace Medical Center and the Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM. This role involves providing clinical care to patients in an inpatient setting, including obtaining patient histories, ordering labs and diagnostic studies, arranging referrals, and performing physical examinations. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for inpatient care, rounding, admissions, discharges, and consults. The position utilizes Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to automate documentation and reduce administrative burden. The team consists of 7 physicians and 6 APPs, with an expected daily patient volume of 6-12.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Current or ability to obtain New Mexico NP license
  • Skills: Intubation, central lines and arterial lines
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) & (BLS) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP/AGACNP) certification preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience preferred with inpatient medicine and the ability to work independently with critical care patients.
  • New graduates with critical care experience/background will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to patients in accordance with regulations, including obtaining patient histories, ordering labs and diagnostic studies, and arranging referrals
  • Uphold excellent bedside manner and create a positive patient experience
  • Explain medical procedures and plans of care to patients
  • Responsible for inpatient care, rounding, admissions, discharges, and consults
  • Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining, updating, and reviewing medical histories
  • Document patient care services in EPIC
  • Attend departmental meetings and professional training sessions as requested
  • Maintain knowledge of and adhere to applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and medical staff to coordinate patient care
