The Critical Care/ED Pharmacist attends all hospital codes and priority alerts, facilitates emergency medication provision, and works to provide comprehensive pharmacy services for all patients of the hospital and ED. This role involves attending Code Blues, Rapid Sequence Intubations, Code Strokes, and Code Sepsis, providing necessary medications, and making treatment recommendations. The pharmacist will also review and provide comprehensive pharmacy services for all STAT orders in the ED and ICU, monitor the EPIC verification queue, perform drug utilization reviews, monitor for drug interactions, assist in maintaining formulary integrity, participate in antibiotic stewardship, provide pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring, and evaluate potential adverse drug events. The role functions as a clinical resource for hospital staff and ensures completion and accuracy of required documentation and record keeping.
