About The Position

Somnia Anesthesia is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Critical Care Anesthesiologist with fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine to join a collaborative academic anesthesia team at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Stockton, CA. This is a full-time position in a high-acuity, innovative teaching environment. The role involves a balanced clinical practice with 12 weeks dedicated to critical care medicine and 30 weeks to general anesthesia, focusing on complex patients within a multidisciplinary team. The position also includes teaching and mentoring fellows, residents, and other learners in both clinical and academic settings, alongside delivering exceptional patient care.

Requirements

MD/DO Anesthesiologist with Critical Care Fellowship.
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.
Active state license.
ACLS certification.
DEA certification.
Physicians in the process of completing their Critical Care Fellowship are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide 30 weeks of Main OR anesthesia services.
Provide 12 weeks of Critical Care Medicine.
Provide service for 4 ICUs (SICU-open, MICU-closed, RICU, CCU) with a total of 40 ICU beds.
Supervise residents in the OR and non-OR cases.
Occasionally provide anesthesia services independently.
Supervise fellows and residents in the ICU setting.
Coverage is typically 7 days of 12-hour days or 12-hour nights.
