About The Position

The Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS), as part of the Children Who Witness Violence program (CWWV), provides acute trauma intervention services in the home and community. This includes trauma screening and assessment, Child Family Traumatic Stress Intervention, and Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as practical and emotional support to family members and witnesses of traumatic and/or violent events in the community. CWWV staff partner with law enforcement, hospitals, schools, the Department of Children and Family Services, and other community agencies throughout Cuyahoga County. CWWV staff also participate in community responses to schools and communities after a violent incident.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work.
  • Minimum of one year professionally supervised work in the delivery of mental health, chemical dependency and/or social services.
  • Must possess an LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Proof of insurance.

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred.
