This position provides assessment, treatment planning, and comprehensive case management. The Crisis Intervention Specialist responds to crises in the community within 24 hours, de-escalates crisis situations, and stabilizes the child and family unit. This role requires responding on-site to crisis calls within one hour, utilizing the DHS assessment tool for risk identification, and providing crisis stabilization services for up to 72 hours if no immediate danger is present. The specialist also coordinates inpatient admissions when indicated, links families to community-based services, and develops individual crisis plans not exceeding eight weeks. Feedback is provided to the program coordinator regarding provider network access and service authorization. All services must be documented according to established standards and within one calendar day of service delivery.
