About The Position

Center for Community Resources Crisis Intervention Services is looking for a compassionate mental health professional. Crisis Intervention services include telephone and mobile assessment, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, referral and linking to community resources. Work in a supportive team environment while helping people access mental health/drug and alcohol services in Bedford/Somerset Counties. CCR’s mission is connecting people to services. And that’s exactly what you’ll be doing in this role. Here, you’ll appreciate the support and camaraderie of a local team as you provide the community with care and support that will improve their mental health and well-being. We offer an extra $0.75/ hr shift differential for the evening shift and $1.50 for overnight shift. This position allows for a great work-life balance. However, you must be flexible to work weekends. The starting salary for this position is $21.54/hr. We also offer a possible higher salary based on experience. Crisis Counselors can work on call to respond to the community. The On-Call hourly rate is $23.00/hr and we pay a stipend of $300.00 per week when covering on call for one full week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field
  • One year experience in mental health field required.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of 302/201 process
  • Knowledge of PA resources
  • Able to exercise sound judgment
  • Flexibility in scheduling
  • Take the initiative while being cooperative and empathetic
  • Maintain strict confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply.
  • Degree/course work is Sociology, Social Work, Human Development and Psychology are strongly preferred
  • Be a registered nurse
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalency AND 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other Social Science AND 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience
  • Associates degree with minimum of 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology and Human Development is strongly preferred
  • 2 years of direct mental health experience is strongly preferred
  • One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree.
