Crisis Intervention services include telephone, walk in and mobile assessment; counselors provide brief crisis counseling, conflict resolution, referrals to community resources and enact involuntary commitments. We offer an extra $0.75/hr shift differential for the evening and $1.50/hr. overnight shifts. Scheduling can be flexible. We offer (to start) 20 days of PTO a year! The starting pay rate for this position is $21.54/hr . Crisis Counselors can work on call to respond to the community. The On-Call hourly rate is $23.00/hr and we pay a stipend of $300.00 per week when covering on call for one full week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field. With major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field AND one year experience in mental health field required.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling, Education or a related field.
  • One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree.
  • Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Car Insurance Coverage Verification.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of 302/201 process
  • Knowledge of PA resources.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment.
  • Take the initiative while being cooperative and empathetic.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply.
  • Degree/course work is Sociology, Social Work, Human Development and Psychology are strongly preferred
  • Be a registered nurse
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalency AND 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other Social Science AND 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience
  • Associates degree with minimum of 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology and Human Development is strongly preferred
  • 2 years of direct mental health experience is strongly preferred
  • One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree.
