The Crisis Intervention Specialist provides risk assessment, brief supportive counseling, referral to resources and other identified supports to individuals and families experiencing a mental health crisis. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field, or 4 years of relevant experience required
- Experience working with people of all ages in the mental health and/or substance use context
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external providers
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree is preferred
Responsibilities
- Providing risk assessment
- Brief supportive counseling
- Referral to resources and other identified supports to individuals and families experiencing a mental health crisis
- Complete a mental status exam and suicide assessment on individuals in distress and make appropriate referrals for services
