About The Position

Center for Community Resources Crisis Intervention Services is looking for a compassionate mental health professional. Crisis Intervention services include telephone and mobile assessment, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, referral and linking to community resources. Work in a supportive team environment while helping people access mental health/drug and alcohol services in Potter County. Must be flexible to cover weekends responding to mental health emergencies. Crisis Intervention services operate 24/7, 365 days year, so willing to help as needed. The starting salary for this position is $21.54/hr. We also offer a possible higher salary based on experience. Crisis Counselors will be part of an on-call rotation to respond to the community. The On-Call hourly rate is $23.00/hr and we pay a stipend of up to $400.00 per week when covering on call for one full week.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required.
• Major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field AND one year experience in mental health field required.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, Political Science, History, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling, Education or a related field.
• Be a registered nurse or Have a High School diploma or equivalency AND 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology or other Social Science AND 2 years of experience in public or private human services with 1 year of mental health direct care experience
• Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Car Insurance Coverage Verification.
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques, computer literate, knowledge of 302/201 process, and knowledge of PA resources.
• Able to exercise sound judgment.
• Flexibility in scheduling.
• Take the initiative while being cooperative and empathetic.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply.
• Degree/course work is Sociology, Social Work, Human Development and Psychology are strongly preferred
• Associates degree with minimum of 12 semester credit hours in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology and Human Development is strongly preferred
• 2 years of direct mental health experience is strongly preferred
• One year experience in Crisis Services or in the mental health field preferred with a bachelors degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide mobile mental health crisis intervention, assessment for safety and general needs.
• Complete all reports and documentation in a timely fashion.
• Maintain quality standards.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays and some additional office hours.
• Able to exercise sound judgement.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
