About The Position

Center for Community Resources (CCR) is seeking a compassionate mental health professional to join their Huntingdon/Mifflin/Juniata team as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. This role involves providing telephone and mobile assessments, coordinating emergency services, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, and referrals to mental health and drug/alcohol resources. Additionally, the specialist will serve as the CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) Coordinator, responsible for program development, training coordination, and maintaining relationships with community partners, particularly law enforcement jurisdictions. The goal is to enhance the training of local law enforcement, first responders, and emergency dispatch officers by planning annual CIT classes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Major coursework in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in Criminal Justice, Crisis Intervention and/or Mental Health Case Management.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proof of auto insurance.
  • Act 33/34 and FBI clearances required.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of 302/201 process.
  • Knowledge of PA resources.
  • Able to exercise sound judgment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Reside in Huntingdon or Mifflin Counties.
  • Experience in Crisis Services or the mental health field preferred with a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience requirements for applicants without a bachelor's degree.
  • Flexibility in scheduling.
  • Ability to take initiative while being cooperative and empathetic.

Responsibilities
