About The Position
Sherman Oaks Hospital is seeking a Crisis Evaluator for its acute adult psychiatric services. The position assesses patients in the emergency room and elsewhere in the hospital when requested, and ensures placement according to patients’ ages, identified problems, and needs. The evaluator acts within the guidelines of LPS statutes and patients’ rights, provides crisis intervention and appropriate referrals when needed, and works with the multidisciplinary team while communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other staff.
Requirements
- Current, valid state-issued license as a Registered Nurse, MFT, or LCSW.
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it as current.
- Experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit; the posting states “Minimum two (3) years.”
- Assaultive Behavior Management training within six months of hire and maintained annually.
- DMH certification required for 5150 detention.
Nice To Haves
- LPS certification is preferred; otherwise, it must be obtained before commencement of employment.
