Under general supervision, provides and verifies criminal record information to law enforcement officers, other law enforcement agencies, correctional institutions, and the judicial system. This role is critical, as errors could result in immediate hazards to public safety. The position involves accessing and utilizing various police and criminal justice computer networks to enter, update, review, retrieve, and expunge information. It also includes sending and receiving teletype messages, reviewing and disseminating sensitive information, processing warrants and other legal documents, and researching and verifying identification. The role requires maintaining criminal records, operating office machinery, and classifying police crime reports. Additional duties include routine office support, collecting data, and performing light typing.
