About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager I, this position is responsible for conducting research of criminal justice information to ensure all information received or disseminated is compliant with state and federal requirements. This position is also responsible for monitoring the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) workflow and processing tasks within defined timeframes as well as providing quality service to local, state, and federal agencies and the general public. This position must meet and maintain a National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) certification as required and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.

  • Current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research for accurate and complete criminal justice information by utilizing internal and external databases or making contact with other criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies to ensure all information received or disseminated is compliant with state and federal requirements;
  • Analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting legal documents in reference to the expunction or sealing of criminal history records in order to process applications for Certification of Eligibility;
  • Conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases and resources;
  • Prioritizing assigned tasks and manages case load per policy and/or direction from management;
  • Monitoring queue in CCH workflow, selects tasks to be completed and ensures completion within defined timeframes;
  • Properly routing completed research in the CCH workflow for validation and conducts any follow up research as necessary;
  • Providing service to local, state, and federal agencies and the general public by means of telephone, correspondence, or personal contact;
  • Assisting in training new members;
  • Maintaining various logs and records of the requests received and processed;
  • Performing other related duties and functions as assigned.
