About The Position

The Matian Firm is hiring an admitted attorney for an Associate Criminal Defense Attorney position in the Dallas area. The role offers the opportunity to gain experience and grow within an established law firm. The Associate Attorney manages a caseload and client interactions and may collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team, including attorneys and legal assistants. The position reports to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney. Requirements

Be an admitted attorney.
Have experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
Be a team player who is willing to help, strategize, and work with fellow associates.
Have high-caliber interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Advise clients about their legal rights and prepare legal documents related to their cases.
Attend pretrial hearings on clients’ behalf and advise them on strategies after each hearing.
Manage court appearances and trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research.
Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents.
Manage a workload of cases.
Provide legal analysis to identify possible benefits in clients’ cases.
Gather additional evidence to support clients’ cases or arguments against prosecution charges.
Prepare clients for depositions, determine key case-strategy goals, and gather supporting information from witnesses and experts.
