About The Position

A fast-growing law firm in Santa Clara, California, is seeking a senior Criminal Defense Litigation Attorney to work full-time on-site. The attorney will handle criminal infractions, misdemeanors, and felony cases across California counties. This is a hands-on litigation role involving courtroom appearances, motion drafting, and direct client representation. The schedule may adjust to court calendars, hearing dates, filing deadlines, and other case-related demands, and may occasionally require work outside regular business hours. The firm focuses on criminal defense, traffic, and corporate law, and emphasizes fierce, zealous, and dedicated advocacy. The position includes case-closure targets: 80% of misdemeanor cases are to be closed within six months of employment, and felony cases within one year. The stated annual salary range is $150,000 to $200,000, contingent on relevant experience and education.

Requirements

Active California State Bar license in good standing.
At least 4 years of criminal defense experience, including trial experience.
Court experience in various California counties.
Litigation experience.
Command of California criminal procedure.
Commitment to criminal defense and client advocacy.
Excellent writing skills, strong negotiation abilities, and expert communication skills.
Flexibility to adjust work schedule to court calendars, hearing dates, filing deadlines, and other case-related requirements.

Responsibilities

Draft motions, briefs, and legal correspondence.
Appear in court hearings and trials across multiple jurisdictions.
Communicate directly and compassionately with clients throughout their cases.
Represent clients in criminal defense matters across California counties.

Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
