About The Position

The Matian Firm is seeking an admitted attorney for an Associate Criminal Defense Attorney position in the Dallas area. The role offers an opportunity to gain experience and develop a career at an established firm with room for growth. The Associate Attorney manages a caseload and client interactions and collaborates with the Criminal Defense Team of attorneys and legal assistants. Requirements

Be an admitted attorney.
Experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
Be a team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates.
Have interpersonal skills of the highest caliber.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Advise clients on their legal rights and prepare legal documents related to their cases.
Attend pretrial hearings on clients’ behalf and advise them on strategies after each hearing.
Manage court appearances and trials; draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct legal research.
Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents.
Manage the workload of cases.
Provide legal analysis to help clients determine possible benefits of their cases.
Gather additional evidence to support clients’ cases or arguments against prosecution charges.
Prepare clients for depositions; determine essential case-strategy goals; and gather supporting information from witnesses and experts.
