About The Position

This role is responsible for machine operation and crew management in a light industrial setting, specifically on the 3rd Shift (Wednesday - Sunday, 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM). The Crewing Coordinator Lead ensures the proper and safe operation of assigned equipment, meeting quality, output, and production goals. This position also involves fulfilling the duties of a Material Handler 1 and Light Equipment Operator 1 and 2 as needed.

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years related experience
  • Basic computer experience
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to lead as a cell leader (multiple machines).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator (share equipment knowledge, quality, and safety concerns).
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine problems.
  • Mathematical skills, and advanced skills in production reports.
  • Basic computer skills, technical skills may vary based on the equipment.
  • Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of machine and manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to work overtime, beyond regular schedule, to complete work assignments as required.
  • Carry up to 15lbs.
  • Push and pull up to 40lbs.
  • Twist, stand, walk, reach, and grip/grasp throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Squat and kneel.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment (varying upon equipment).
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne dust, paper particles, and industrial lift trucks.
  • Must wear hearing protection when required.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Monitors performance of machines and personnel, providing feedback.
  • Ensures production goals are met, crews have necessary tools and resources, and communicates issues to the Supervisor.
  • Ensures production and material handling processes are followed.
  • Applies advanced troubleshooting skills and performs basic maintenance on assigned machines to improve quality and performance.
  • Assists crew members when needed.
  • Organizes crew activities and delegates assignments.
  • Trains and develops all crew members.
  • Monitors product quality for correctness and reports errors.
  • Monitors print and bundle quality, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Monitors product waste and takes steps to reduce or eliminate spoilage and doubles.
  • Maintains accurate record keeping (e.g., safety audits, packages per hour, labor hours per thousand, and other logs/forms).
  • Communicates personnel issues to the Supervisor.
  • Informs other Operators/Supervisors of pertinent information and communicates to other shifts as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Lead, coach and maintain open communication with other production team members.
  • Participate in Team Business Meetings.
  • Prioritize work to meet production commitments and goals.
  • Make machine staffing assignments.
  • Determine machine processing speed.
