About The Position

We are currently hiring a Shipping & Receiving Crew Supervisor for our day shift (7:30 am – 4:00 pm with occasional overtime) at our manufacturing plant in Richland, Washington. The Crew Supervisor is a thought leader, a facilitator, and is instrumental with ensuring optimal throughput and production efficiencies by developing effective processes and equipment utilization strategies that meet production goals and objectives. Leading these processes and strategies ensure that we are achieving conformance and producing quality products that meets our customer requirements and ATI goals and objectives. The Shipping & Receiving Crew Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of 2 direct reports. You will coordinate incoming and outgoing materials and receive material into a computerized inventory tracking system and is responsible for inventory control. You will work closely with employees in material processing and the supply chain. The Crew Supervisor is responsible for training, coaching, motivating, and leading their team to ensure safe and efficient operation of all production areas. In order to become successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly learn ATI’s processes, products, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and become familiar with the department and facility. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement mindset, the ability to act quickly and make impactful decisions, and exceptional interpersonal skills are included in the skillset of a successful Crew Supervisor. You will be required to work safely as providing a safe environment to work in is the company’s top priority.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving in an industrial environment.
  • At least 2 years of formal or informal supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Previous experience operating and certified for Industrial Mobile Equipment (IME), especially forklifts, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two year or greater degree or trade school equivalent preferred.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office programs required (specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees, drivers, and vendors.
  • Familiar with inventory processes.
  • Previous experience with structured Safety and Quality programs.
  • Previous experience in the metals industry.
  • Experience with inventory control computer system(s).
  • Familiarity with D.O.T. codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees other shipping coordinators work and sets daily work priorities for shipping and receiving.
  • Maintains Shipping and processing procedures and makes revisions as well as CI work, process improvements, problem solving reports.
  • Manages outside raw material processing (creating batches, contacts vendors to give instructions, etc.). Creates and maintains raw material purchase orders.
  • Maintains the outside warehouse (schedule trucks, load/unload offsite and maintain inventory) and resolves problems with trucking brokers and dispatchers.
  • Receives raw material into inventory using a computerized inventory tracking system. Reconciles to bills of lading in accordance with procedures.
  • Loads and unloads freight using Industrial Mobile Equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Stages all raw material lots and updates material location into computerized inventory tracking system while maintaining lot integrity and the organization of raw material in receiving areas.
  • Schedules/coordinates all domestic shipments out of plant and enters shipments into the program and works with export compliance to coordinate international shipments.
  • Creates and completes OPM batches and steps.
  • Coordinates the handling of scrap material and updates the scrap records.
  • Responsible for inventory control including keeping data accurate and up to date, entering receipts into inventory tracking system and assigning new lot numbers to incoming material and completes inventory cycle counts as required.
  • Distributes receiving paperwork for entry into computerized inventory tracking systems and generates lot folders.
  • Pulls samples on all prepped feed material and sponge as directed by procedures and submits the samples to the lab for analysis.
  • Receives parts, supplies and other ordered materials and distributes to proper personnel. Marks and stores all material in accordance with procedures.
  • Assists in completion of material transactions including exchanges, transfers, receipts, and usage. Work with accounting to reconcile any inventory differences.
  • Handles outgoing Kahn Bahns leaving the plant and coordinates shipments of material to outside processors.
  • Monitor’s accumulation of by-product and coordinates sale/shipment with Supply Chain Manager.
  • Data entry/tracking using a computerized data system, drafting correspondence and filling out various paperwork; Microsoft Office Products are used as well as other computer systems.
  • Participate in safety meetings and conduct safety observations.
  • Other duties and training as assigned.
