About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Production Crew Leader to oversee daily operations within a Heat Treatment Department at a manufacturing facility in Alcoa, Tennessee. The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader who is committed to maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. This position is responsible for supervising production employees, ensuring quality standards are met, coordinating daily operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Crew Leader will play a key role in employee development, operational performance, equipment coordination, and problem-solving while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and operational goals are achieved.
- Monitor production processes, workflow, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate employee schedules, shift assignments, staffing needs, and overtime.
- Maintain production standards, quality requirements, and established operating procedures.
- Collaborate with maintenance and technical teams to prioritize and resolve equipment-related issues.
- Execute departmental operating plans to support overall business objectives.
- Lead, motivate, and develop hourly production employees to achieve individual and team goals.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and recommendations for employee development.
- Conduct shift meetings to communicate priorities, expectations, and operational updates.
- Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and promote a positive, accountable work environment.
- Ensure consistent enforcement of workplace policies, procedures, and applicable labor agreements.
- Maintain and implement standardized work practices for employees and leadership.
- Promote and enforce environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and execute short-term improvement plans, including 90-day problem-solving initiatives.
- Share best practices and support process improvements across teams and departments.
