About The Position

CommuteAir is seeking a Crew Payroll Specialist to assist its crew employees by providing accurate and timely time tracking and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate payroll processing for inflight and pilot staff.

Requirements

  • A level of comfort learning new technology systems, particularly HRIS systems.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to relay complex technical and legal information and language to crew members.
  • A strong focus on confidentiality and sensitive data.
  • Ability to manage pay deadlines and prioritize workload within the month effectively.
  • Intermediate Math and basic working knowledge of Excel and Pivot tables.
  • Ability to learn proprietary systems and ability to use Microsoft Suite regularly.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English.
  • Candidates should possess an intermediate proficiency in mathematics and critical thinking, along with a foundational understanding of basic Excel functions such as formulas, data entry, percentages, and simple analysis.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee data, ensuring all personal and sensitive information is protected and not disclosed without proper authorization.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA.

  • Experience working with Dayforce is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Audit inflight and pilot training hours for contractual pay rule compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and audit daily reserve and flight hours from the scheduling system.
  • Review and respond to crew member pay queries and disputes professionally and assist with contract clarification.
  • Process any necessary corrections found during audits.
  • Run end of pay period payroll reports and exports.
  • Interface with the IT and scheduling departments to continuously improve upon scheduling methods and their pay impact.
  • Audit crew member absences (paid/unpaid) to ensure correct payroll deduction is applied.
  • Develop requirements for contractual changes relating to crew pay.
  • Interface with Flight Operations leadership on grievances and contract interpretation issues.
  • Assist with implementation, support, and maintenance of the Human Resource Information Management System.
  • Ensure crew pay system operates as expected and ensure system maintenance.
  • Interact with crew pay system vendor on defects and upgrades, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Back up other payroll team members and their functions.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of all positions at CommuteAir.
  • Other duties as assigned.
