About The Position
Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking interpreters to interpret for IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, mental health evaluations, etc. Interpreters must have daytime availability. There is an immediate need for Creole interpreters in Dover, Delaware for in-person assignments. This role offers a flexible schedule with the potential for 5-10 hours per week, making it a great way to supplement income.
Requirements
- Full fluency in both English and Creole
- Daytime availability (between the hours of 9AM - 5PM)
- Availability to support our interpreting clients 5-10 hours a week
- Access to reliable transportation
- Candidates must be willing to get a background check including Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry
- Must have reliable phone service for contact
- Must be comfortable with using a computer or smart phone for job input
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years of professional interpreting experience preferred, but not required
- Industry specific certifications/trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, etc.), but not required
Responsibilities
- Travel to local client sites, within the Dover, Delaware area
- Provide Creole-English interpreting for school meetings, parent-teacher conferences, medical appointments, and more
- Provide superior customer service
- Adhere to Code of Professional Conduct, including maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
- Adhere to all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry specific best practices
