About The Position

Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking Creole interpreters for in-person assignments in Sussex County, Delaware. Interpreters work at IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, mental health evaluations, and appointments or engagements involving schools, state agencies, attorneys, and medical providers. The role offers a self-managed schedule: interpreters may accept or decline jobs based on their availability. Candidates must be available for at least six hours per week during the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mileage is paid for every job, and late cancellations are paid. Creole is an immediate need.

Requirements

• At least one year of professional interpreting experience listed on the resume; volunteer interpreting for a school or church, or interpreting as part of job duties, is considered.
• Willingness to undergo Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry background checks.
• Reliable phone service for contact.
• Availability for at least six hours per week between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
• Documentation showing proficiency in languages other than English is preferred; candidates without documentation might be asked to complete a proficiency test.
