About The Position

The Cremeria Clerk assists and supports the Cremeria Department by providing a high level of customer service and following safe food-handling procedures. The role includes preparing and maintaining cremeria products and displays, handling merchandise, and helping ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary work environment. The employee may also be assigned other duties as needed. The work environment is typical of an office and retail store, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. The employee works indoors, including in freezers and refrigerator coolers as needed throughout the day, and is protected from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position involves heavy work, including exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 1 year of meat department experience.
Ability to sit, stand, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to meet the physical demands of heavy work: exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
Ability to walk and work in a freezer and refrigerator cooler as needed throughout the day.

Responsibilities

Ensure cremeria products are sliced and available.
Price products.
Ensure product quality, protection, accuracy, and proper rotation in coolers.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with safety and sanitation requirements.
Provide great customer service.
Keep cremeria displays clean and presentable.
Store cleaning supplies properly.
Advertise department products.
Receive, unload, stock, fill, and rotate merchandise.
Verify case, cooler, and refrigerator temperatures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
