Newcomer Funeral Service Group is seeking a part-time Crematory Operator in Toledo, Ohio. The position supports the timely and respectful care of decedents and may suit candidates with backgrounds in medical services, AMR, or the military, as well as people enrolled in or considering mortuary science school. The operator manages the cremation schedule, operates and maintains crematory equipment, ensures regulatory compliance, handles cremated remains with care, and maintains accurate records. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Certification to operate a crematory, or ability to obtain the proper certification.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to hazardous substances subject to government requirements, high heat, and noise.
- Ability to occasionally lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to approximately 600 pounds with assistance.
- Manual dexterity for clerical tasks.
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to approximately 30 pounds for short distances.
- Ability to travel by standard methods of transportation.
