About The Position

JunkBondInvestor is an independent credit research business covering high yield bonds, leveraged loans, private credit, and BDCs. The company is launching an institutional research product in early 2027 and is hiring a credit analyst to work directly with the founder on coverage, idea generation, and published research. The role is full-time and based in New York in a hybrid arrangement, with remote work considered for the right candidate. Compensation includes equity for the right hire.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in buy-side credit, leveraged finance, restructuring, distressed investing, or credit research.
Strong modeling skills and credit agreement expertise.
Clear, direct writing and willingness to take a view.

Responsibilities

Underwrite high yield, leveraged loan, and stressed credits end to end, including financial models, capital structures, covenants, and downside cases.
Write research notes with clear trade recommendations and return scenarios.
Update coverage as earnings, refinancings, and corporate actions unfold.
Track relative value across the capital structure and comparable issuers.
Help source new ideas, including special situations and liability management opportunities.
Own coverage names from initial review through every update.
