Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor- Middletown NY & Newburgh, NY
About The Position
The IMA Group is seeking a Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor to conduct assessments and connect clients to treatment in partnership with the Orange County Department of Social Services. You'll work in a structured, supportive clinical environment with minimal travel, no nights, no weekends, and no on-call. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in your community and still be home for dinner. The IMA Group's Government Services Division supports local, state, and federal agencies, while the Payer Services Division meets the evaluation and screening needs of various entities in the workers' compensation, disability, liability, and auto markets. The Clinical Research Division conducts Phase II-IV clinical trials.
Requirements
- Active CASAC credential (required)
- 1–4 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities
- Conduct timely substance use disorder assessments referred by the County DSS
- Recommend and facilitate appropriate SUD treatment referrals
- Monitor client participation in OASAS programs
- Maintain accurate records and obtain treatment consents
- Collaborate with community providers, SAAM team members, and county agencies
- Stay current on local OASAS resources and community-based treatment services
