About The Position

Roc Nation is seeking a Creative Strategy Manager to align artist initiatives with brand objectives and meet collaboration goals. This role will lead a team of two Jr. Creative Strategists, report to the Creative Strategy Director, and collaborate closely with brand partnerships, distribution, and creative departments. The creative strategy team is responsible for developing and supporting creative strategies across all brand partnerships and Roc Nation brands to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate is a big-picture thinker with a strong understanding of culture, music, digital & social trends, and fan engagement tactics. They should be able to quickly ideate on emerging trends, write engaging briefs and concepts, and craft persuasive narratives for presentations. Proficiency in researching clients and brands using best practices is essential. The role requires comfort in asserting a strategic perspective to guide creative and client conversations, along with strong organizational skills, proactivity, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience.
  • BA in Communications, Media, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, or related areas.
  • Strong interest in the entertainment industry – music and sports specifically.
  • Experience designing and copywriting pitch decks and one sheets, with a portfolio of work.
  • Ability to clearly and confidently present pitch decks and marketing plans directly to artist teams, c-suite executives, and potential brand partners.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills for internal and external communication.
  • Ability to understand clients’ marketing objectives and work closely with senior strategy team to develop plans to support these objectives.
  • Ability to synthesize research and disparate information into a cohesive plan, finding the throughline across varying inputs.
  • Strategic thinker at the core with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Deep knowledge of all social media platforms and their perceived value audiences.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Roc Nation clientele, goals & objectives, and Roc Nation brand language.
  • Up-to-date on the latest industry trends, breakthrough creative campaigns, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiar with project management / well organized.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support creative strategy development across all brand partnerships & Roc Nation brands to accomplish business objectives.
  • Research partners, brands, and entertainment clients to create compelling ideas aligned with brand goals.
  • Ideate and create compelling materials through copywriting and data-backed strategy.
  • Persuasively pitch ideas and concepts to both internal and external audiences.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  • Provide clear and reliable communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Offer consistent and constructive feedback on creative projects.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the brand partnerships department & SVP of Brand Partnerships to understand incoming pitch deck requests, client meetings, and team needs.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the creative team to relay incoming requests from a design & video perspective.
  • Manage the project management of the deck creation process, setting timelines for design deliverables.
  • Own the strategy, copywriting & narrative of each deck/presentation.
  • Collaborate with the design team to bring strategic pitch decks to life, providing direct design requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all materials for internal & external purposes uphold the Roc Nation creative standard, with approvals from the Creative Strategy Director and VP of Creative & Design.
  • Engage in ideation across artists, athletes, brands, and special projects for Roc Nation.
  • Pitch decks in real-time via Zoom & in-person meetings for clients, internal teams, and potential partners.
  • Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of Roc Nation clientele, goals & objectives, and Roc Nation brand language.
