About The Position

WPP Production is seeking a Freelance USH Spanish Creative Director/Senior Copywriter based in Miami. This role involves writing headlines and localizing copy for a Technology client's marketing communications across various channels including web, in-store, and direct mail. The position requires supervising and reworking copy originally written in U.S. English for adaptation into other markets. The Creative Director will be responsible for writing, reviewing, and empowering campaigns, developing culturally relevant concepts for the U.S. Hispanic market, and maintaining a consistent brand tone of voice, personality, and cultural relevance across all media formats. The role also involves creating or transcreating copy to ensure messages are clear, align with the spirit of the English master copy, and communicate the same strategic or product points. The Creative Director will guide and maintain the quality of translated long copy, review, rewrite, and approve all translated marketing copy from writing teams, and attend on-site confidential projects in the US when required.

Requirements

  • Creative thinker with solid copywriting skills
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the advertising agency world, gained in the best creative agencies in the market
  • Working as a copywriter and copy-based Creative Director/Transcreator for a good number of years
  • Worked on international and local brands
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Hispanic culture in the U.S.
  • Understands language subtleties (especially when it comes to adapting headlines)
  • Conceptual creative who can come up with big ideas, but also focused on the smallest details (like punctuation)
  • Obsessed with excellent writing that is thoughtful, meaningful, provocative at times, clear, and inspiring
  • Teamwork – easy to get along with – be able to work with Editors and a team of creatives
  • In-country based / Spanish-native level
  • Tech-savvy / used Mac before (or willing to learn)
  • Good knowledge of technology products on the market
  • Must be able to travel as required, sometimes several weeks at a time

Responsibilities

  • Write, review, and empower campaigns for the client’s brand and products
  • Develop culturally relevant concepts for the U.S. Hispanic market
  • Develop and maintain a consistent brand tone of voice, personality, and cultural relevance for the U.S. Hispanic market
  • Create or transcreate copy by ensuring all messages are clear, follow the spirit of the English master copy and communicate the same strategic or product point
  • Guide and maintain the quality of the translated long copy, wherever it appears
  • Review, rewrite, and approve all translated marketing copy from our writing teams (translator/editor)
  • Attend on-site confidential projects (in the US) when required
