About The Position

Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for a Manager, Creative Copywriting to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the Manager, Creative Copywriting, you will partner with creative, brand, marketing, social, digital, product, and business teams to create work that is strategically sound, creatively strong, and impossible to ignore. From major campaigns to everyday touchpoints, you will help define how the brand shows up in the world — with clarity, consistency, personality, and intent. The position reports to the Director, Creative and will be located in Toronto, Ontario.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Advertising, Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related discipline is an asset; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in copywriting, content, or creative roles, with demonstrated experience leading people and creative output
  • Experience working in an agency, creative team, or marketing environment where ideas, craft, and collaboration matter
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating writing craft across channels, audiences, and formats
  • Proven ability to lead writers, shape creative work, and develop talent
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with strong creative judgment and a sharp eye for tone and detail
  • Strong understanding of brand voice, campaign development, content strategy, and channel best practices
  • Ability to think strategically, work collaboratively, and move fluidly between big-picture direction and hands-on execution
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and explaining creative decisions with clarity and confidence
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Curiosity, taste, and a genuine passion for making the work — and the team — better
  • High personal and professional integrity, with a commitment to quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of copywriters, creating a culture that is ambitious, collaborative, supportive, and creatively brave
  • Create the conditions for strong creative performance by challenging the team, clearing roadblocks, and knowing when to guide, push, or jump in
  • Lead the writing discipline within The Studio, setting the standard for clarity, craft, tone, and originality
  • Provide strong creative direction and editing across projects, helping turn good thinking into better writing and better writing into stronger ideas
  • Champion a distinctive and consistent brand voice while understanding how it flexes across brands, audiences, channels, and moments
  • Work closely with designers and creative partners to develop ideas where words and visuals strengthen each other from the start
  • Stay close to the work as a player-coach, stepping into concepting, writing, and key projects when needed
  • Oversee writing across campaigns, digital, social, email, web, CRM, advertising, internal communications, and other customer and brand touchpoints
  • Balance brand storytelling with performance-minded writing that is clear, effective, and grounded in audience needs
  • Act as the senior creative writing lead for the business, building strong relationships and trust across teams
  • Present ideas, rationale, and recommendations clearly and confidently to stakeholders and leadership
  • Establish and maintain tone-of-voice principles, writing standards, and best practices that strengthen the brand and the work
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of The Studio as a creative team producing work that can stand confidently alongside the best in the industry
