About The Position

Hershey’s Chocolate World is the most popular brand experience in the world, with nearly four million guests visiting its location in Hershey, Pennsylvania every year. Guests come to experience attractions, enjoy dining in the food court, and shop for souvenirs, treats, and gifts. Exceptional customer service is key to the guest experience. This is a part-time, seasonal position located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, with work hours primarily in the summer and the fall. The company will not provide relocation assistance or other employment benefits for this position.

Requirements

  • Must maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards.

  • Leadership/ability to take initiative.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for 5-8 hours.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and twist.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, fellow co-workers, and function effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic technical/computer troubleshooting experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
  • Minimum 18 years of age or older.
  • Requires availability to work nights, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Nice To Haves

  • General retail knowledge a plus.
  • Food manufacturing or relevant experience and knowledge of good manufacturing practices is preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the role of a “line supervisor” and assist guests through the process of “creating their own bar” on an actual factory manufacturing line.
  • Interact with guests and provide information about the chocolate-making process.
  • Perform basic operational functions of a chocolate manufacturing line including chocolate tempering, taking samples, recording data, and running quality assurance tests.
  • Utilize computer screens and push buttons to start and stop equipment.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices.
  • Utilize safe practices around machinery.
  • Use monitoring tools provided and follow procedures.
  • Replenish ingredients and supplies.
  • Sanitize the assigned area.
  • Demonstrate the Customer Service Pledge.
  • Be approachable, showing that guests are the priority.
  • Initiate contact with guests by being courteous and greeting them with a smile.
  • Listen to guests and provide for their needs.
  • Provide a genuine Thank You to every guest.
  • Utilize the computer to operate machinery.
  • Utilize monitoring tools.
  • Greet guests with an outgoing, pleasant, and friendly personality and provide information to educate them on the chocolate-making process.
  • Run quality assurance tests, follow good manufacturing practices, and safely operate machinery.
  • Clean and replenish assembly line machines and supplies.
