About The Position

The Crate Builder sets up and performs a variety of crate-building and woodworking tasks using several types of materials. The role supports production by following engineering drawings, specifications, and established practices; maintaining safety and quality; and preparing products for delivery to the next customer.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Three to five years of experience operating woodworking and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to operate a table saw, chop saw, staple gun, nail gun, and other carpentry tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to read tape measures.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and actively contribute to team success.
• Good communication skills, English fluency, organization skills, and a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe work habits and follow all safety policies and guidelines.
• Maintain inventories of raw materials and supplies using established replenishment procedures.
• Safely handle materials and material-handling equipment to prevent injuries and equipment damage and ensure product quality.
• Perform cutting, fitting, and general woodworking operations according to engineering drawings, specifications, and established practices.
• Organize and complete tasks on time to meet production schedule requirements.
• Train less-experienced employees in the area as needed.
• Handle materials and prepare products for delivery to the next customer as required.
• Maintain housekeeping and perform safety and user maintenance of equipment as required.
• Accurately record time and material data for production reporting.
