Crane Electricians read, interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of WHE/MHE electrical equipment installations. Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduit, feeders, co-axial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components. Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance. Maintains, repairs, tests, and installs alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) electrical motors, generators, alternators, and electrical control systems and other related devices. Conducts preventative maintenance in accordance with P-307 requirements. The Crane Electrician may also install WHE/MHE instrumentation and related devices. Installs conduit using threading, cutting, and bending equipment and tools. Replaces defective circuit breakers, switches, fuses, and other electrical wiring devices. Uses a variety of electrician’s hand tools, testing, and measuring instruments. May perform other related duties.
