About The Position

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Crane Electrical Maintenance teammate to safely perform preventive and corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems. The teammate is expected to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and ownership while contributing to team success. During construction, Maintenance Electricians will help build the mill and develop its computerized maintenance management system to support proper design criteria, equipment reliability, and long-term maintenance excellence. The role requires availability for weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Fundamental knowledge of electrical theory.
Experience troubleshooting 480V motors and controls.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), instrumentation, AC/DC variable frequency drives, motors, and control systems.

Nice To Haves

Prior steel mill experience.
A 2-year or 4-year degree in an electrical or related field.
Experience with Magnetek or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Safely perform preventive and corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems.
Propose and implement innovative solutions to steelmaking-process challenges, focusing on safety, reliability, quality, cost, and project management.
Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and periodic maintenance on equipment.
Read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
Train teammates on new equipment and modifications to existing equipment.
During construction, help build the mill and develop its computerized maintenance management system.
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
