About The Position

Great West Casualty Company is hiring a Coverage Attorney to focus on the motor carrier policy. The attorney will provide counsel, training, and assistance to claims departments to foster consistent, efficient, and appropriate claims practices. Responsibilities include preparing coverage opinions and memoranda on claims legal topics, overseeing litigation and declaratory judgment actions, and supervising outside counsel. The position offers a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote, based at the corporate office in South Sioux City, Nebraska. A relocation package is offered. There are no billable hours.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one state.
• Strong attention to detail and above-average multitasking skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to situations requiring an immediate transition.
• Critical and analytical thinking skills for reviewing complex claims issues.
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in insurance defense, litigation, regulatory compliance, or administrative law.
