About The Position

Litchfield Cavo is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney for its growing Chicago office. The attorney will handle insurance coverage matters for insurers across the United States and work with a team that values open and honest communication, integrity, and professionalism. The role offers opportunities to develop professionally in a dynamic work environment. The salary range is $140,000–$170,000, commensurate with experience, for an attorney with four or more years of experience. The position involves handling a substantial caseload of insurance coverage files under the direction of a partner. The firm provides experienced support staff, current technology, ongoing training, and full-time IT and marketing departments. Requirements

At least five years of experience in the defense of insurance coverage and/or the insurance industry.
Licensed to practice in Illinois courts.
Able to manage multiple case files successfully in a busy environment.
Strong legal research and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and superb organization and prioritization skills.
Ability to move efficiently from case to case.
Knowledge of state and federal court procedures.

Admission to practice in Indiana is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Handle a substantial caseload of insurance coverage files under the direction of a partner.
Draft, prepare, and handle coverage opinion letters and coverage position letters on first- and third-party insurance files.
Draft and respond to complex, dispositive motions.
Conduct legal research competently and proficiently.
Prepare for and take depositions and interview parties and experts.
Review client documents and draft evaluations and status report correspondence.
Assist with and participate in mediations and court appearances.
